Events This Week in York

York's live scene is built around the York Barbican, a 1,500-seat (1,900 standing) venue opposite the city walls that hosts concerts, comedy and the UK Championship snooker tournament. The Grand Opera House is another of the city's main stages, while The Crescent and the Fulford Arms are the city's smaller gig rooms for touring bands and up-and-coming acts. The Barbican was refurbished and reopened in 2011, and York's compact centre means most venues are a short walk from the station and from each other. TheShowFinder tracks tickets across every major provider so you can compare prices before you buy.
