Weekday Wonderings Talk With Andy Skinner: the Story of St Mary's Workhouse
About this event
Weekday Wonderings is a weekday initiative from Southampton City Council Cultural Services, exploring the rich history and heritage of the town. Each session is different, but it could be a talk, tour or something entirely different! Look out for exciting activities on different weekdays! Southampton’s workhouse was in the neighbourhood of St Mary’s. This talk by historian Andy Skinner draws back the curtain of the workhouse and explores its origin, building and the tales of the unfortunate people who were forced to call it home. This talk will be held in the beautiful surroundings of the Georgian Room and admission to the museum is included on the day of the talk. Cancellations In the unlikely event that we cancel a session, we will offer a full refund. Unfortunately tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend for any reason. If you have any questions about the event please contact us at museums@southampton.gov.uk or call us on 023 8083 4536 (emails and phones are staffed weekdays 9am-5pm).
