Birds of a feather - in-depth winter bird workshop at University of Bristol Botanic Garden
About this event
Discover more about Bristol's resident and winter migrant birds during an in-depth wildlife workshop with well-known naturalist and author Ed Drewitt. Taking place on Clifton Down and at the Botanic Garden site, the workshop will explore how bird behaviour changes during the winter months and help participants identify local species through their songs and appearance. The morning will begin with early fieldwork as Ed leads the group on a bird walk across the Downs. Participants will discover the varied patterns of birdsong and focus on many of the common species found in the area, including resident and over-wintering migrant birds. Following the walk, the group will return to the Botanic Garden site for lunch, which is not provided. The workshop will then explore the theory of winter bird identification and behaviour in more depth over a cup of tea and a biscuit. This native wildlife in-depth workshop is suitable for adults. Tickets Tickets cost £38.40 per person. Advance booking is required.
