Guided Tour Behind the Scenes at Kingswood Heritage Museum
About this event
Ever wondered what happens beyond the public galleries? Visitors now have the chance to find out! Kingswood Heritage Museum is hosting a special Behind the Scenes Guided Tour, taking visitors into parts of the museum that aren't normally open to the public. Visitors will discover: The Museum Library - and some of the fascinating material held there. The Archive Collection - packed with photographs, documents and records preserving the history of the local area. Hidden objects, stories and treasures from the museum's collections that aren't usually on display. How the museum works behind the scenes - including some of the work involved in caring for and researching a volunteer-run local museum. The tour will be led by Steve Wood, the museum's Curator and local historian, and Lynda Blackwell, Chair of the Trust, who will share their knowledge and stories along the way. Groups are kept deliberately small, giving attendees plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discover things they might otherwise never see. Date and Time: Sunday 1 November 2026 - 2pm The tour lasts approximately 1½ hours and includes admission to the museum, so visitors can continue exploring afterwards - or relax
