Make Your Own Dragon Linstock
About this event
Head to the Mary Rose Museum over half term where you can make your own linstock (lighting stick) and decorate it with a fiery dragon's head to shine a light at Halloween! Linstocks were decorated wooden poles, used to ignite the fuse on a cannon while keeping a (relatively) safe distance. Each gun captain would decorate his own linstock, often with a dragon's head. Make your own cardboard version in the Mary Rose museum's learning centre to brighten the autumn days as winter gloom descends! This activity is free for all with a valid museum ticket. There's the option to purchase a battery tea light for £1, should you wish to illuminate your Dragon head.
