Malaysian Cookery Class at Cooking It

Adults can master the vibrant flavours of Malaysian cuisine during this hands-on three-hour cookery masterclass at Cooking It in Bristol. Malaysian food brings together Malay, Chinese and Indian influences to create a distinctive cuisine packed with complex flavours, aromatic spices and comforting dishes. This evening class gives participants the opportunity to explore Malaysian street food and traditional home cooking without leaving Bristol. Led by Cooking It's expert Thai Chef JJ, who has experience working in Malaysian restaurants and hotels, participants will learn the secrets of creating a traditional rempah spice paste and discover how to balance sweet, sour, salty and spicy flavours. The class will also introduce ingredients including galangal, lemongrass and tamarind, helping participants gain the confidence to use them in their own cooking. What participants will cook: Signature Laksa - Participants will create a rich and spicy coconut curry broth from scratch, served with noodles and fresh herbs. Classic Beef Rendang - The class will explore the traditional dry curry technique used to create tender, caramelised beef infused with toasted coconut and star anise. Char Kway
