Santa's Edible Gift Workshop at Cooking It

About this event

Creative young cooks can craft, bake and package beautiful handmade Christmas gifts during this five-hour festive workshop at Cooking It in Bristol. Perfect for children who love getting hands-on in the kitchen, the workshop focuses on confectionery, festive biscuit baking and creative gift packaging. Participants will learn techniques including working with chocolate, creating stained-glass biscuits and layering their own cookie mixes in mason jars. Between creating their edible Christmas presents, the group will also prepare a delicious hot festive lunch. What they'll make and learn: Hot Chocolate Marshmallow Bombs - Children will mould chocolate spheres before filling them with cocoa mix and marshmallows. Stained-Glass Sugar Biscuits - Participants will bake classic sugar biscuits with festive centres filled with boiled sweets, which melt during baking to create a colourful stained-glass effect. Cookies-in-a-Jar and Gift Crafting - Children will layer dry cookie ingredients into mason jars, create recipe cards and finish their edible gifts with ribbons and gift boxes. Hot Festive Lunch - Young chefs will also prepare breaded goujons, spiced wedges and cranberry dip from scratch.
