The Ultimate Festive Party Feast at Cooking It

About this event

Young foodies can master seasonal baking, dough shaping and delicious party food favourites during this action-packed five-hour festive masterclass at Cooking It in Bristol. The session gives budding chefs the opportunity to develop fundamental kitchen skills, from knife safety and seasoning to working with puff pastry and making shortcrust pastry from scratch. After baking up a festive feast, the group will sit down together to enjoy the food they have prepared before taking home boxes filled with handmade savoury pastries and sweet mince pies to share with family. What they'll make and learn: Artisanal Sausage Rolls - Young chefs will season fillings with sage and apple, roll pastry and learn how to create decorative lattice tops. Cheesy Christmas Tree Bread - Participants will shape yeast dough, stuff it with mozzarella and finish it with garlic and herb butter. Sweet Shortcrust Mince Pies - Children will make delicate shortcrust pastry from scratch before adding the filling and finishing their mince pies with festive star-shaped pastry tops.
