Master the Art of the Perfect Pancake: A Shrove Tuesday Masterclass at Cooking It

About this event

Pancake lovers can ditch the dense, rubbery discs and learn how to flip like a pro during this hands-on Pancake Day workshop at Cooking It on Gloucester Road in Bristol. Whether participants prefer a paper-thin classic French crêpe or a thick and fluffy American-style stack, the workshop explores the techniques needed to create better pancakes at home. Led by Cooking It's experienced chef tutors, participants will discover the science behind creating a smooth, lump-free batter, learn why resting the mixture matters and practise achieving the perfect golden finish in the pan. What participants will learn and cook: The Perfect Batter - Participants will master the foundations of both traditional French crêpes and thick, fluffy American-style pancakes. The Flip - The class will help participants build confidence at the stove while learning pan-swirling and pancake-flipping techniques. Gourmet Toppings - Participants will go beyond traditional lemon and sugar by creating a selection of sweet toppings and savoury options. By the end of the session, participants will have created plenty of pancakes and toppings, with dinner sorted too.
